CLAHRC [unpublished] - Black Pig Case Study - Design Communications, Web Design

Back To Case Studies

The NIHR CLAHRC for Cambridgeshire & Peterborough is one of nine pilot CLAHRCs nationally funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and is a collaborative partnership between the University of Cambridge and a consortium of NHS and Health and Social Care providers. CLAHRCs were established during 2008 to undertake high quality applied health research focused on the needs of patients and to support the translation of research evidence into practice in the NHS.

Black Pig was initially approached to design and build a website for the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CLAHRC and also to refresh the design of a leaflet for an upcoming conference on Mood Disorders. Matching name badges for the event were also created.

The new website is strongly branded in CLAHRC's red and grey colour scheme, featuring the filmstrip graphic which forms part of the corporate guidelines we were required to follow during the design phase of the project. As well as information about CLAHRC's work, events and study opportunities the site also includes a message board for facilitating discussions about health research or other relevant topics. Black Pig built the site using the client's preferred content management system to enable them to easily add new pages and content.

Following the success of these projects we were asked to carry out design work for CLAHRC's launch event in September 2009. This included the design and print of a programme leaflet, invitation cards, replycards, two roller banner stands and a series of posters.

The launch event was a great success and we understand that our client received positive feedback on the invitation card design in particular.
