Ahoy mateys. Yes it’s officially the count down to Christmas, my little girls are counting the amount of ‘sleeps’ before Santa comes and I’m studying hard (or hardly studying, joke!!) the lines for the Barkway Players pantomime already. This year’s is going to be great, it’s loosely based around Sinbad the Sailor but I’m not giving anything else away yet!
Talking about great things underway I hope you’ve heard our charity Christmas single that we’ve released in aid of CLIC Sargent. It’s absolutely fantastic, and I’m not just saying that, I love it. Back in October we held public auditions for parts on the record and the response was overwhelming, we had entries from all age groups from across the region, whittling it down to 15 winners was a task and a half. Never the less we pick out our singers and took them into Koolworld Studios in Luton which has graced fellow chart sensation Leona Lewis and Gary Moore amongst other stars, what a great experience that was. We had lots of fun as you can see in the photos on our MySpace page: www.myspace.com/starsinthesty. The hard work of the Black Pig team has paid off and it’s now available to download from our own site whilst it’s being processed by the big download sites.
Visit www.blackpig.co.uk/store/ to get yourself a copy and don’t forget to tell all your friends, family, neighbours, pets or strangers on the street! We want to raise as much money for CLIC Sargent as possible, and of course if we can get high up the download chart then that’s a bonus.
Black Pig has amassed a lot of fans over the years and perhaps one of the youngest is Callum Fairhurst, brother of Liam who’s helping us to launch Its Christmas Time (In The Morning) and has undertaken a staggering amount of fundraising for CLIC Sargent already. Callum it seems is just as enterprising as I was as a child and has set up the Black Pig Sweet Shop from his garage! I even had a free sample when him and his brother visited the other day.
Despite what it seems we’re also working extremely hard at the minute, it’s always the way that it gets slightly crazy in the run up to Christmas, and its not just Christmas cards and calendars that we’re dealing with either. Hilton Hotels have recently got us on board to work on the Hilton Honours Awards and we’re in the final throws of East of England Internationals complete website overhaul. It’s an exciting time of year that’s for sure.
I do know one thing that is having a good rest at the minute, that’s our Black Pig Bouncer which has been returned to us for winter hibernation and repairs. Don’t worry though it’ll be back out in the spring just as bouncy as ever.
